School Meals & Menus

The cost of a school meal is £2.80 per meal/£14 per week. Payment for school meals needs to be paid via SIMS Pay. If your child is entitled to free school meals this will need to be confirmed by the benefits department, please contact the school office to discuss this further. An application form for free school meals is available from the school office or you can apply online. To qualify for free school meals you must be in receipt of certain benefits or credits, the school office can advise you of these.

Lunch is prepared in the school kitchen. Food is served in each classroom for all lower and middle school. The upper school students have their own restaurant area. A vegetarian choice is available each day. The daily choice always includes healthy eating options, for example, salads.

Students may bring a packed lunch if they prefer. A healthy packed lunch is vital to ensure your child gets enough energy and nutrients to last the rest of the school day. A healthy packed lunch should contain a balance of foods. Try to include something from each of the four main food groups:

  1. Bread, rice, potatoes, pasta and other starchy foods
  2. Fruit and vegetables
  3. Meat, fish, eggs, beans and other non-dairy proteins
  4. Milk and dairy foods

Remember to include a drink. We advise against fizzy drinks and, chocolate and crisps should be eaten in moderation, also please note that we are a “nut free school” and no nuts are to be included in packed lunches, this includes students and staff.
